“ When my friend told me hey lets eat dimsum for supper I was thinking u're kidding me right? Where can you even find food like that at this hour at 1am in the midnight? He eventually drive us to this spot at Jalan Kuchai Lama, & I'm feeling attached with this place ever since then. You would see people all around occupied the restaurant even at this hour, as if you were in a chinese mamak store. Their dim sum they served here is uniquely nice & tastes great! We are a big fan of their most unique combination - bacon wrapped dim sum! Sounds nice right? It tastes even better when you have a mouthful of it. One of their signature is their Lao Sha Bao(filling buns) - the bun that is filled with egg yolk & coconut/milk. It taste really authentic as I can't remember any places that serve lao sha bao with egg yolk fillings that tastes perfect like this. Their loh mai gai( glutinous rice) are awesomely tempting too. Choices of dim sum here is quite alot & each of them tastes just as nice. Overall the dim sum here are really tasty, even the most normal ones! I would certainly try out everything that had here if we have the capacity to do that. Definitely a must try place. ”
“ Start your review...I have always wondered why was this restaurant so misty all the time. I'm surprised I have not been to this restaurant despite living relatively close by. It looks like a run down place on the left side of busy two way road. But ignore the exterior and look at what they have to offer. Dubbed the famous dim sum of Kuchai Lama, is Fu Lai Restaurant. Serving a wide array of freshly steamed dim sums and baos, that explained the constant misty situation. What I love most about this dim sum restaurant the quality of food. Huge trays of dim sums arrive throughout the day in big trucks. This proves that the food are being prepared freshly and delivered straight to the restaurant. Similar to most dim sum places, staffs will be walking around balancing trays of dim sum items for you to pick. They are extra attentive specially here in Fu Lai as they have been in the industry for a long time. I know it's tough to believe but everything here is good! I've yet to try a few new items like the Bacon inspired dim sum and the Royal Siew Mai. It's quite cooling to eat away underneath a huge tree during the daytime and nighttime with random leaves flying across. The price is on the average side of the scale but then again when it comes to ala carte items, it's really depends on what you order. But baos are priced at market level. ”
